Lowell Lake State Park

A year-round facility offering a variety of seasonal activities, Lowell Lake State Park is equipped with hiking trails for nature walks and snowshoeing in the winter. A nearby lake is also accessible for swimming, kayaking and fishing.
Mount Equinox
OFF RTE 7A, MANCHESTER, VT
Experience Mount Equinox, southern Vermont’s highest peak, via the Skyline Drive, with picnic areas and lookouts along its 5.2 mile climb. At the summit, visit the Saint Bruno Scenic Viewing Centre, with information about the Carthusian Monks, whose only US monastery is located on the mountain.
Jamaica State Park
JAMAICA, VT
Jamaica State Park was officially opened to the public in 1969 and is currently made of 772 acres of land. There is a great emphasis on fishing in the many areas of water in the park, but there are also opportunities for camping, hiking, and swimming.
Buttermilk Falls
BUTTERMILK FALLS ROAD, LUDLOW, VT
Located in the Okema State Forest, Buttermilk Falls is a series of three connected waterfalls with with trail access and a sandy beach at the lower falls. The base of the falls is a popular picnic area.
A series of waterfalls and popular swimming holes on the Branch Brook, listed in the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources inventory of significant waterfalls, cascades, gorges and swimming holes. The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation manages the property which is cared for by staff from Camp Plymouth State Park during the summer
Lye Brook Falls
LYE BROOK FALLS ACCESS ROAD, MANCHESTER, VT
Access the 125-foot Lye Brook Falls waterfall via the Lye Brook Falls trail, where you’ll follow old logging railroad grades and woods roads to the scenic falls, one of the highest in the state of Vermont. Looking for a relatively easy hike to one of Southern Vermont’s most lovely waterfalls? The hike to Lye Brook Falls in Manchester, Vermont is a moderate 4.6-mile woodland walk that is easy enough for families with outdoor-loving kids. This hike is perfect for summer because the trail is shaded the whole time, and it’s one of our favorite hikes to bring guests who come to visit us in Bennington. Here’s an overview of this beautiful trail in the expansive Green Mountain National Forest.
Camp Plymouth State Park

Home to a gold mine operation in the 1850s, Camp Plymouth State Park now houses a sandy beach, concession stand and change rooms, picnic area, volleyball nets and playground, and campground. Canoe, kayak and paddle boat rentals available to explore Buffalo Brook.
Healdville Trail
OKEMO MOUNTAIN, LUDLOW, VT
Located in the Okema State Forest, the Healdville Trail is a hiking route from the base of Okemo Mountain to a fire tower lookout at its summit. Hike through forest and across streams on this 6-mile trail with mountain views.
Deer Leap Trail
RUTLAND, VT
Suitable for intermediate hikers, Deer Leap Trail provides views of both Rutland’s Valley and Pico Peak. There is also a pub at the bottom of the trail where drinks, sandwiches and salads are served. Get to know this 2.2-mile out-and-back trail near Killington, Vermont. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 8 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through November. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Paradise Park
PARADISE PARK RD, WINDSOR, VT
Located in the Windsor Municipal Forest area, Paradise Park is situated on 200 acres that provides access to the forest and to Lake Runnenede. The park contains open space, hiking trails and habits for wildlife. Such a nice place for walking, fishing, or going for a run! You can see geese and goslings, many fish, snapping turtle and LOTS of beaver activity. I’m sure if we had been out there at dusk we would have seen plenty of them. Lots of different areas to explore, from the water, to a field with swallows everywhere, woods, marshy area, etc. beautiful spot.
Mount Ascutney
WINDSOR, VT
The total span of the park that contains Mount Ascutney is roughly 2000 acres. There are several camping sites, picnic areas, and paths for hiking that go all the way to the summit of the mountain. Flanking 3,144-foot high Mt. Ascutney to the north, south and east, the park is a favorite of many outdoor enthusiasts and sightseers.
Molly Stark State Park

With a hiking trail that leads up a local mountain, Molly Stark State Park provides scenic views of an area that was settled prior to the American Revolution. There are also several maintained campsites. Molly Stark State Park, named for the famous wife of General John Stark of the Revolutionary War. The park is located along the Molly Stark Trail Scenic Byway (State Route 9), the main east-west route in Southern Vermont that connects Brattleboro, Wilmington and Bennington.
Kennedy’s Pond
ASCUTNEY STREET, WINDSOR, VT 05089
Nested in between hills, Kennedy’s Pond offers a scenic destination for enjoying the surrounding nature. Visitors can go swimming or fishing at one of the pond’s beaches. The movie Funny Farm was filmed at this pond.
McLaughlin Falls
WHEELERVILLE ROAD, KILLINGTON, VT
Killington’s McLaughlin Falls are stunning waterfalls that provide visitors with remarkable natural views. The surrounding woods are particularly scenic in the fall. A hiking and biking trail takes visitors right up to the falls.

Mount Snow Golf Club
The Mount Snow Golf Course has matured into one of Vermont’s premier mountain courses and has been rated one of the top five in the state by Golf Digest. Designed by New England course architect Geoffrey Cornish, our 18-hole championship course has also been named one of the top 10 resort courses in the country by SKI Magazine.
The course meanders through spectacular Vermont countryside and provides stunning views of the Green Mountains, including the peaks of Mount Snow and Haystack. Picture tamaracks, oaks, birches and sugar maples lining fairways while the mountains provide a majestic backdrop. The front nine is spread over scenic expanses and the back nine winds its way through wooded terrain. Water comes into play on 11 holes and 41 sand traps are strategically located around nearly every hole. The course sits 2,000 feet above sea level.
Bellows Falls Country Club
The Bellows Falls Country Club is a nine-hole golf course that dates back to 1922. We have a clubhouse that is relaxing and includes a bar, restaurant, and pro-shop. We also have a screened porch off the clubhouse where members and guests socialize and watch play on the first, second, and ninth holes. Killington Golf Course
Killington Resort’s golf course is open to the public from May 28 through October 10, 2022. Designed by Geoffrey Cornish, the course takes full advantage of unique mountain terrain, and it shows. Snowmelt streams, a 2,000’ elevation and signature vistas set the scene. The 6,186-yard, par 72 Championship Golf Course includes a practice facility with a 12,000 square-foot putting green and practice bunker, full-size retail pro shop with all the essentials, on-course beverage cart, caddy shack with food and beverage offerings, as well as the Clubhouse Bar and Grill with indoor and outdoor seating. The Killington Golf Course offers a full season schedule of league nights and tournaments.
